Mobile Electrician in Rotherham

EQUANS are looking for a Mobile Electrician for our Rotherham Schools contract. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview: We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the building maintenance teams at the Rotherham Schools contract. They will be able to demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements and will establish good working relationships with the team and client. The individual should have the ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion. They will have a good sound knowledge of Electrical Maintenance and the relevant qualifications.

Impact: The Mobile Engineer - Electrician for the completion of routine maintenance and reactive electrical works. They will have the ability and experience to work unsupervised to diagnose and repair faults on electrical building services, electrical switch gear, domestic and industrial installations. This role will operate across 14 schools across Rotherham and a company van will be provided.

• Work with site supervisor to ensure that tasks are planned and delivered to client specification and agreed service and KPI requirements
• Plan and prioritise work, complete and sign off tasks via work sheets and electronically
• Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H/S and Environmental regulations
• Carry out electrical maintenance, reactive repairs and fault finding
• Carry out planned and minor project electrical works
• Provide out of hours cover as part of a rota
• Complete electrical small works and test sheets to comply with accreditation and statutory requirements
• Compliant with all safety related policies and procedures
• Any other duties that may be required in order to facilitate the efficient operation of the contract
• Establish good working relationships with other team members, provide guidance to others (e.g. apprentices)
• Willingly contribute to the overall team and company objectives, responding quickly to new directives
• Reads and understands the relevant generic Risk Assessment
• Completes Point of Work Risk Assessment
• Ensures appropriate PPE is worn/used and is in good working order
• Ensures work area is protected using appropriate barriers/signs
• Ensures full training has been received for each aspect of the job
• Ensures work area is left safe on completion of the job
• Uses appropriate access equipment where necessary

Complexity: Accountable to the Engineer Supervisor for the day to day completion, monitoring and documenting Electrical maintenance and Reactive works across the contracted sites.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

• Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with electronic test equipment
• Ability to follow work instructions, read/interpret technical diagrams and report technical information as required
• Electrical fault finding & rectification skills
• City & Guilds Level III or an ONC is a minimum requirement
• 18th Edition Qualified
• Holds City & Guilds 2377-12 & 2377-11 PAT testing (Preferred but not a requirement)
