A vacancy has arisen for Patient Services Assistants (cleaning) to join the busy Patient Services Department at QA Hospital. Responsible for cleaning all the floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, glassware, high and low level surfaces, sanitary areas within Clinical and Non-Clinical Areas.
These duties will be carried out:
- Carry out daily cleans, planned routine scrubs on wards, and ad hoc infectious scrubs as directed following outbreaks (i.e. MRSA, diarrhoea and vomiting, hepatitis etc) to ensure bed blocking is kept to a minimum.
- The daily cleaning of sanitary fixtures and fittings in patient and public areas.
- High and low level cleaning, spot wash walls, dusting curtain tracks, radiators, and window ledges and cleaning of internal glass and doorframes as required.
- Changing window and bed curtains as routine and after an infectious clean/scrub.
- Cleaning of patient related furniture to include bedframes, lockers, tables and chairs.
- Using heavy mechanical cleaning equipment (i.e. scrubbers, wet pickups, buffers) to clean floors in wards, bathrooms, toilets and corridors.
- Cleaning of Theatres, daily scrubbing of floors, sinks and surrounding dirty and clean corridors following department and Infection Control guidelines.
Working Hours: Please only apply if you can work either of the following hours Monday to Friday (working all 5 days):
- 13:30-17:00
- 15:00-19:00
The post is monthly paid and uniform is provided. The successful applicant will receive a first class training package, which includes on and off the job training. Other benefits are a generous annual leave entitlement and the opportunity to join the NHS pension scheme. Will require a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) form to be completed. Applicants must have excellent customer care skills and high standards of personal hygiene.
