EQUANS is looking for a Payroll Team Lead to join our team based in Quorum Business Park on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The salary banding is £35,000 – £37,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, along with a benefits package.

You will oversee the daily operations of Payroll, Pension, and Benefit administration activities across the UK, ensuring accurate and timely processing in line with UK legislation. The role involves engaging with employees, line managers, and HR Operational leads to ensure quality and timely service delivery.

As part of our Shared Services team, you will have the flexibility to work from our new office at Quorum Business Park two days a week, with three days remote. Our culture emphasizes flexibility, support, and inclusivity, prioritizing employee wellbeing and development.

What will you deliver?

  1. Drive excellence in service delivery, ensuring team activities comply with statutory and Equans processes.
  2. Coordinate audit activities for your team with timely monthly sign-offs.
  3. Lead process mapping, transformation, and improvement sessions, implementing enhancements in collaboration with the Payroll Manager and HR Operations.
  4. Maintain and improve process documentation based on stakeholder feedback.
  5. Motivate, manage, lead, and coach the team to meet KPIs and challenging metrics.
  6. Support team members’ development through coaching and feedback.
  7. Plan monthly and annual activities to manage peak periods effectively.
  8. Build strong relationships with the Shared Service Centre Leadership and other teams for seamless service.
  9. Collaborate with SAP technical teams on system requirements and data verification.
  10. Deputise for the Payroll Manager as needed.

  • Experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Coaching or development experience
  • Understanding of GDPR
  • Experience with HR & Payroll systems (desirable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

This role requires passing a Basic DBS check.
