Equans is looking for an Accounts Payable Team Lead to join the AP team based from our office in Quorum Business Park on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
You will be based at our brand new, super modern Shared Services office in Newcastle, which is a dynamic multifunctional operation, where our people are committed to delivering great services that enable our business to meet its goals.

What will you deliver?
- Lead, manage and support the Accounts Payable team ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable process.
- Oversee, review and authorise the payment of non-PO invoice payments.
- Manage the OCR solution including appropriate levels of validation are carried out on a regular basis.
- Ensure all invoices are processed in line with Service Level Agreement and maintained below a specified level.
- Manage the submission of aged invoices with suppliers to ensure good housekeeping is in place.
- Keep abreast of all relevant legislation in relation to the Accounts Payable service.
- Ensure there is daily investigation into issues/quality errors in relation to invoice processing.
- Manage and resolve queries in line with SLAs and communicating with key stakeholders where necessary.
- Ensure all risk is managed in line with INCOME controls and other risks identified.
- Comply with finance processes, controls and regulatory framework – always. Ensure areas which could potentially adversely affect the business are expediently highlighted to management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Identifying training & development needs for the team.
- Encourage cross training & development.

Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience within Accounts Payable is highly desired.
- SAP would be beneficial but not essential.
- MS Office including Word & Excel.
- Demonstrable experience leading teams in a similar environment.
- Leader and motivator.
- Excellent planning and administration skills.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage in an environment where high levels of change are a given.
This role includes a Basic DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential.
