- WORKING HOURS
- Continental shift pattern - 4 on / 4 off, rotating days and nights
- 12-hour shifts: 6:30am - 6:30pm / 6:30pm - 6:30am
- 42 hours per week
- Overtime may be required for holiday and sickness cover

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building services systems.
- Respond to alarms, breakdowns, callouts, and critical incidents in a timely and professional manner.
- Safely operate and maintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, HV, and associated building services systems.
- Ensure all PPM and reactive works are completed within agreed SLAs.
- Diagnose faults and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Monitor and maintain systems including BMS, air conditioning, chillers, AHUs, pumps, heating systems, motors, plumbing, and life safety systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logbooks, CAFM records, and shift documentation.
- Support the Shift Leader with daily team meetings and PPM planning.
- Review contractor RAMS and supervise specialist contractors where required.
- Obtain, issue, and manage Permits to Work and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
- Ensure compliance with procedures relating to hot works, confined spaces, electrical isolations, roof access, and other controlled activities.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure statutory and critical maintenance tasks are completed.
- Provide technical support to the client on M&E matters.
- Coordinate with client representatives, facilities teams, security, hospitality, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Support commissioning, mobilisation, asset validation, PPM structuring, and transition activities for the new building.
- Provide clear and effective shift handovers to ensure continuity of service.
- Order parts and materials required for planned and reactive works.
- Provide quotations for chargeable works where required.
- Maintain a flexible, customer-focused approach and support activities outside your immediate trade where appropriate.
- HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
- Ensure full compliance with Carbon60 and client health and safety procedures.
- Follow all relevant statutory legislation, safe systems of work, and site procedures.
- Carry out and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Ensure Permit to Work procedures are followed correctly.
- Support compliance with L8 ACOP and associated water hygiene requirements.
- Maintain appropriate records for emergency lighting, fire and life safety systems, and statutory maintenance.
- Ensure safe use and inspection of tools, steps, harnesses, lanyards, and other equipment.
- Support incident response and ensure critical building incidents are managed safely and effectively.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, compliance, and professional conduct at all times.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a technical engineering role within a commercial building, critical environment, data centre, or high-end corporate site.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background; multi-skilled experience preferred.
- Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance within a critical environment.
- Previous experience working on 24/7 continental shift patterns.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, electrical distribution, lighting, power, pumps, motors, BMS controls, plumbing, and general M&E plant.
- Ability to manage alarms, callouts, breakdowns, and critical incidents under pressure.
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 18th Edition qualification for electrically biased engineers.
- City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent recognised trade certification.
- CSCS/ECS card.
- Strong understanding of Permit to Work systems.
- Good IT skills and experience using CAFM systems and handheld devices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
DESIRABLE
- HVAP qualification.
- IPAF 3a & 3b certification.
- Inspection & Testing 2391.
- Confined Space qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely or similar health and safety qualification.
- Mechanical engineering qualification or strong mechanical systems experience.
- Experience with LTHW, CHWS, BCWS and other commercial heating/cooling systems.
- Experience with L8 ACOP and water treatment systems.
- Experience with Planon and Planon Mobile.
- Knowledge of Integrated CAFM systems.
- Experience supporting building mobilisation, commissioning, and transition projects.
- Uniform and PPE
Uniform and PPE will be provided if required.
