Overview
Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our facilities team working on our Metropolitan Police South East London FM contract based at Sutton police station and covering Bromley and Lewisham police stations, as required. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1700. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
- To provide the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of M&E plant and equipment across MET Police South East London sites
- To carry out the installation of new M&E equipment as required i.e. minor new works, refurbishment and capital works replacement programme
- Investigate, trouble shoot and rectify defects for all M&E systems and associated plant / components
- Oversee/escort any specialist contractor works as required
- Proactive identification of defects and faults outside of specialisation and escalate accordingly
- Ensure prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork
- Working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with participation in the on call rota and out of normal working hours activity.
Who are we looking for?
- Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience
- Must be able to undertake unsupervised non-routine maintenance and complex repair/installation work
- Good communication skills and customer focused with a proactive, flexible, can-do approach
- Must be able to produce technical/incident reports
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
- Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting
- Driving License essential
