Overview

Equans is looking for a Mobile Caretaker to join our team working in School sites in the Birmingham Area. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of Β£25,000 – Β£26,000 per annum and benefits package.

Shift times:

Monday to Friday 06.00 – 18.00

A full clean driving licence (valid within the UK) is essential.

What will you deliver?

Responsible for the delivery of caretaking/cleaning services for designated schools within the Birmingham Schools portfolio, together with establishing a close working relationship with the schools and community groups. Ensure that all services are provided to a consistently high standard in accordance with the requirements of the Project Agreement.

This is a mobile job and you need to be flexible, as working evolves morning and afternoons, locking up and opening any school that requires cover while the site manager is sick or on annual leave.

You will be given a van for business use only and a fuel card.

Who are we looking for?

Experience

  • Relevant continuous working experience of providing FM services including cleaning and basic maintenance of buildings and associated plant and systems. (Essential)
  • Experience of producing risk assessments & method statements. (Essential)
  • Experience of cleaning and caretaking management within an educational environment. (Desirable)

Skills/Ability/Knowledge

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety principles. (Essential)
  • Able to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines. (Essential)

Education/Qualification

  • GCSE / O Level Mathematics and English or equivalent. (Desirable)
  • Relevant trade or vocational qualification. Desirable)

Personal Qualities

  • Be sufficiently fit to be able to undertake caretaking duties. (Essential)
  • Capable of working on own initiative with minimum supervision. (Essential)
  • Able to work as a team player and pass on knowledge to others. (Essential)
  • Possess good communication and customer care skills. (Essential)
  • Flexible and willing. (Essential)
  • Prepared to work out of hours as necessary. (Essential)
  • Resident within 20 minutes travelling time from the school. (Essential)
