EQUANS is looking for a Mobile Electrician working on our HMCTS contract at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court.
This is a permanent full‑time role of 40 hours per week, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
Equans provide technical and soft services to our client HMCTS across a large portfolio of buildings across the UK.
As part of the service, we deliver low voltage electrical maintenance and installation services.
Due to business growth, we are recruiting additional roles to provide these services for our customer.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to the electrical infrastructure and plant in accordance with Site task schedules and CAFM.
- Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
- Ensure that plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
- Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.
- Provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFE is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
- Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
- Develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing uniform and PPE at all times.
- Maintain up‑to‑date plant logs at all times.
- Supervise and monitor sub‑contractor works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
- Ensure awareness and compliance with contractual KPI’s/SLA’s.
- Keep CAFM system (e. g. Plan On) up to date and close out PPM and reactive tickets with accurate data.
- Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans’ Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements (or approved client system).
- Carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
- Provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.
- Gain Technical Appointments as required (e. g. LVCP/LVAP/HVAP) and issue PTW to Subcontractors and Equans staff.
- Ensure that both self‑delivered and subcontracted maintenance, testing and inspection activities comply with the latest version of BS7671, ensuring that all remedials are carried out.
- Impact
Working to a high standard of Building Maintenance, we require a fully reliable and competent Electrician who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing high quality reports on their findings and work.
The role will involve being the face of Equans, so a smart appearance and the ability to discuss findings with others including customers is required.
Complexity
The successful candidate will have the ability to fault find, diagnose and rectify complex Electrical faults and issues unaided.
An excellent knowledge of Electrical systems is required to develop switching schedules and Safety Documentation prior to shutdowns and to plan and oversee electrical shutdowns to permit maintenance or testing.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Full Clean UK Driving License
- NVQ level 3 in Electrical or equivalent such as City & Guilds Technical Certificate in Electrical.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring regulations
