We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance (M&E) Supervisor to join our Facilities Management team at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift pattern of 06:45 to 15:45 / 08:00 to 17:00.
Key activities:
- Reporting to the Operations Manager / Senior Operations Manager
- Supervise mechanical/electrical/building trade staff and specialist contractors
- Ensure proper allocation and completion of work, in line with performance monitoring and client satisfaction
- Order materials and services within delegated authority and certify delivery/completion
- Monitor trade staff performance, timekeeping, and sickness according to company policy
- Provide estimates for works, site measurements, cost control, and maintain records
- Undertake training and qualify as AP and/or CP if required
- Work with tools as necessary during routine work and emergencies, supporting staff
- Participate in a call-out rota system for emergency response
- Hold a recognized electrical or mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualification to level 3
- Have significant experience in building services, ideally within a hospital setting
- Possess supervisory or management experience and be a team player
- Be client-focused with a proactive approach
- Demonstrate knowledge of trade groups such as building works, mechanical, and electrical engineering
- Exhibit good communication and customer service skills
- Show adaptability, planning, organizing, and prioritizing abilities
