EQUANS are looking for a Maintenance Manager working on our Royal Calderdale Hospital contract in Halifax. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview: Responsible for overseeing the Maintenance delivery on an acute hospital setting, managing both internal and external labour. Responsible for the Building Fabric; you will also be required to assist other members of the team in the service delivery. Collaborate and co-operate with the senior team to deliver a client-driven, cost effective and efficient Facilities Management Service at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and deliver maintenance in an acute hospital setting, coordinating internal and external labour.
- Manage Building Fabric and assist other team members in service delivery.
- Collaborate with the senior team to provide a client-driven, cost effective facilities management service at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
- Deliver a safe, compliant hospital environment that supports patient experience.
- Provide support to the estates team and the wider site team where needed.
- Manage fabric-related maintenance budgets, including planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive works, minor works, and emergency repairs.
- Oversee external contractors delivering fabric maintenance and minor works projects, ensuring value for money, statutory compliance (including HTMs), and adherence to service level agreements.
- Supervise a team of fabric technicians and grounds staff; monitor performance and ensure training and development.
- Cover for other managers during periods of leave and support line management as required.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as fire safety (e.g., fire door inspections), legionella risk management, infection prevention, and accessibility (DDA).
- Provide technical input to capital schemes and refurbishments; act as a key stakeholder in minor capital or lifecycle replacement projects affecting the fabric and grounds of the estate.
- Apply analytical, practical, and forward-thinking problem solving to ensure the hospital built environment supports safe and uninterrupted patient care.
- Carry out AP duties in accordance with HTMs, contractual compliance, and other relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications: A recognised Level 3 or higher qualification in a building, construction, or fabric-related discipline.
