With a rich history of excellence in designing, constructing, and maintaining buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide, we are now offering an exciting new opportunity for an M&E Technician. Equans Embedded Energy operates multiple customer sites with large-scale embedded energy capacity across the UK, providing specialist management of onsite generation for industrial processes and the ability to export to the Grid. We combine multiple technologies to meet our customers' specific needs and provide design, build, operate and maintenance services. Our skills and expertise can help industrial businesses to achieve their carbon reduction goals. We are experts in many technologies, including combined heat and power (CHP), biomass, and energy from waste.

This position is for an M&E Technician for a prestigious long-term energy supply contract in London. This site involves the supply of heat and electricity to a range of consumers in London from two Energy Centres. The Engineer will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of boilers and electrical generation distribution equipment which consists of large scale HTHW boilers and 11kV electrical generating plant.

Key activities:

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of boilers & heating networks.
  • Always maintain health and safety documentation and records to the highest standard.
  • Ensure PPMs and reactive jobs are closed promptly to allow for timely processing and reporting.
  • Have a basic understanding of the supply contracts.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Permit to Work Systems, and all other relevant Health and Safety requirements including writing and application of risk assessments and method statements. Issue Permits to Work when required.
  • Work unsupervised and function as part of a team.
  • Always operate in accordance with best practice regarding Equal Opportunities, recognise and value Diversity in the Workplace and demonstrate respect for others.
  • Place the highest importance upon Engie Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • C&G Electrical Theory & Installation; C&G test & Inspection.
  • Fault-finding and practical skills.
  • Experience in electrical generation.
  • Experience in large commercial / industrial boiler plant and associated equipment.
  • Experience in overhaul of pumps, valves and pipe work essential.
  • Experience in Confined Spaces ideal but not essential.
  • LV/HV experience - essential.
  • Able to work unsupervised and function as part of a team.
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office package including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Experience of CAFM systems for maintenance.
