Equans UK is looking for a new Surveys and Monitoring Manager to join our Equans Digital Business based from our London office on a hybrid working arrangement. The primary objective of this role is to lead and manage all survey and monitoring activities across EQUANS Infrastructure Services. This includes delivering high-quality, accurate, and safe survey outputs while building internal capability and driving innovation in geospatial and monitoring technologies. The role ensures that survey data supports project delivery, risk management, and digital integration across infrastructure contracts.
Key activities:
- Oversee the delivery of all survey and monitoring services, including topographical, GPR, LiDAR, drone, sub-surface mapping, and environmental monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
- Develop and embed best practices, QA/QC processes, and digital workflows.
- Build and lead a high-performing internal team, while managing external suppliers as needed.
- Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and digital specialists to integrate survey outputs into design and delivery.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Deliver high-quality, data-driven infrastructure services.
- Support pre-contract engagement and bid development and help shape compelling, data-informed proposals.
Skills, qualifications & experience:
- Relevant degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a closely related discipline.
- Substantial experience managing complex survey and monitoring operations within infrastructure or construction environments.
- Deep technical knowledge across a range of survey methodologies, including topographical surveys, GPR, LiDAR, drone-based scanning, sub-surface utility mapping, and environmental monitoring.
- Familiarity with geospatial data processing, BIM integration, GIS platforms, and digital twin environments.
- Desirable - chartered status with a recognised professional body, such as the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES), the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), or an equivalent.
