EQUANS are recruiting for a Commercial Assistant to be based in Holbeck, Leeds. The role is working 42.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Equans has recently secured a five year partnership and this role is to pro-actively support the commercial team on the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial, financial and contractual elements of the project in order to control and recover all commercial entitlements. This includes assisting the commercial team by ensuring all value is captured, inclusive of measuring and valuing all exclusion works using the agreed schedule of rates, ensuring costs are allocated correctly, and preparation and administration of weekly and monthly applications.
Key Accountabilities:- To assist the QS with commercial administration and management on a number of live projects.
- Ensure all value is captured, inclusive of measuring and valuing all exclusion works using the agreed schedule of rates.
- Sub-contract procurement and commercial management.
- Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts.
- Preparation of documentation for valuation, procurement or commercial administration.
- Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities.
- To support the QS in the management of day-to-day cost control, monitoring and reporting.
- Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout.
- Manage and control accrued income levels through regular invoicing within agreed timescales.
- Logical and auditable collation of supporting financial documentation.
- Ensure the company is neither compromised nor disadvantaged by any contractual or financial arrangement.
- Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client are fully advised of the cost situation.
- Maintaining and developing professional relationships with the Client to help future business development.

- Experience in Social Housing Refurbishment; Responsive Maintenance, Voids, Gas & Cyclical, Aids & Adaptations, Capital & Investment Works.
- Experience with National Housing Schedule of Rates would be advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Good level of numeracy.
- IT skills – MS Office, Excel, Project, Word etc.
