We have a great opportunity for a HIAB Crane Operative across various locations in Cheshire and occasionally across other parts of the North West. The ideal candidate will ensure that street lighting operates efficiently and safely, contributing to public safety and energy efficiency.

Key activities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair street lighting, including columns, posts, and cable installation and removal.
  • Respond to emergency structural issues, making safe and removing lighting columns, signs, and posts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including materials used.
  • Traffic management operations, including basic Chapter 8 signing and coning.
  • Participate in emergency call-out rota, including night work.
  • Complete necessary documentation on electronic devices or paperwork, such as job sheets.
  • If applicable, install traffic management (Chapter 8), including signage and guarding.
  • Drive and operate vehicles and plant requiring both general and specialist skills.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Protect the safety of the workforce, the public, and vehicles by ensuring all works are properly secured and managed.
  • Fulfill health & safety responsibilities according to the company's policies and management plans.
  • Carry out other duties as required, appropriate to the level of responsibility and expertise.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
  • Full, clean UK driving license; holding a category C2 license is essential.
  • Lorry loader remote controller and manual crane swivel hook experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
