Equans is looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer (Mechanical / Plumbing) to join our team on the Wheatley Contract, based from Bellshill on a permanent basis.

This is a full‑time role working on average 40 hours per week.

On offer is a salary of up to £38,000 per annum depending on experience and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.

You will be the key point of contact on‑site, ensuring all planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive, and breakdown works are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Your expertise in water booster pump maintenance, commercial and industrial plumbing, and mechanical installations will be essential to maintaining and enhancing client assets.

  • What you will deliver
  • Execute all PPM tasks in line with maintenance specifications, accurately logging work progress and completion using PDA and CAFM systems.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork, E‑Forms, and supplementary documentation promptly.
  • Manage reactive maintenance tasks promptly, reporting plant failures and raising quotations as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and plumbing systems, including water booster pumps, valves, and large‑diameter pipework.
  • Perform point‑of‑work risk assessments and ensure safe working practices are followed, including the use of PPE and adherence to permit‑to‑work systems.
  • Monitor and supervise subcontractors during site maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe plant room environment and ensure tools, vehicles, and test equipment are regularly audited and in safe working order.
  • Participate in a regional on‑call rota for emergency call‑outs outside normal working hours.
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors while maintaining the professional image of Equans.

Who we are looking for

  • Recognised industry qualification in mechanical or plumbing trades.
  • Proven experience in commercial/industrial plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
  • Expertise in PPM and repairs of water booster pumps.
  • Experience servicing large‑diameter pipework components such as gate valves.
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH preferred).
  • Computer‑literate with excellent communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and committed to maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral).
  • Available for out‑of‑hours standby rota participation.
