Overview

EQUANS are looking for an Electrical Craftsperson to join our team in Wakefield for our Pinderfield & Pontefract Hospitals contract. This is a permanent full-time role with a shift pattern of 4-on, 4-off, including 2 days 07:00-19:00 and 2 nights 19:00-07:00 followed by 4 days off. Role summary

Electrical Craftsperson to operate and maintain electrical engineering services and building plant as part of a flexible maintenance team, including specialist subcontractors, to deliver high standards for our clients. The role reports to Technical Supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical maintenance of relevant assets efficiently and effectively, following planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and reactive work orders.
  • Manage fault diagnosis, sourcing parts, and completing tasks to meet safety and quality standards.
  • Work as part of the wider M&E team and undertake other tasks related to building services as required.
  • Maintain compliance with HTM requirements, statutory regulations, and EQUANS guidelines; keep records of activities per QA requirements.
  • Respond to emergency repairs (may require overtime) and participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes.
  • Monitor and report defects to Technical Supervisors; familiar with Building Management Systems (BMS) and CAFM systems for recording maintenance.
  • Provide feedback on PPM results, contribute to KPI awareness, and communicate planned/reactive works to wards/departments.
  • Supervise, communicate with, and develop other trades staff; assess the quality of work performed.
  • Ensure activities are conducted safely with CDM compliance and maintain necessary records and procedures.
  • Possess knowledge of electrical safety, risk assessments, and safe working practices; understand relationships with other maintenance crafts.
  • May be rostered to shifts that include unsocial hours with shift allowance.

Qualifications or required experience

  • Recognised Electrical/Engineering Apprenticeship – HNC, ONC, City & Guilds, or equivalent experience.
  • BS7671 (18th Edition).
  • Must be able to obtain Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
