Equans is looking for a Cleaning Team Leader to join our team in Mithras Halls, Lewes Road, BN2 4QX. This is a permanent, full‑time role of 40 hours per week. The salary is £26,888.00 per annum with a benefits package. Shift Pattern Monday to Friday 08:00‑17:00.
What the role entails:
- Responsible for performance of the cleaning service and demonstrate continuous approval of performance standards as required by the contract.
- Ensure monitoring of performance against the KPI’s is adhered to.
- Oversee and support self‑auditing processes to maintain high standards.
- Ensure Health & Safety and COSHH regulations are complied with at all times.
- Ensure the effective use of equipment and materials; report all faults to the Residence Manager.
- Assist with stock management, including ordering and inventory control.
- Train new staff members and deliver toolbox talks to all staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and company expectations.
- Review task‑based risk assessments periodically to ensure compliance.
- Organise and coordinate cover for staff absences, including sickness and annual leave.
- Look after cleaning supplies and stores used/required, including all health and safety aspects.
- Organise periodic or special resource cleans as per contractual specification or as required.
- Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives across the cleaning team.
- Support and organise summer school lets in accordance with contractual requirements.

Qualifications:
- Ideally BICS trained.
- Experience in a leading role.
- Excellent understanding of cleaning processes, materials and equipment use and ordering.
- Good computer skills, including online systems and Microsoft packages.
- Evidence of right to work in the UK.
- Ability to undergo a Disclosure check if required.
- No relocation package is offered for this role.
