Workshop manager M/W - Axima Nuclear in Bridgwater

As part of our growth, we are looking for a Workshop Manager to lead and oversee all operations related to the prefabrication, storage, and dispatch of HVAC ductwork components supporting the Hinkley Point C nuclear site construction. The aim is to support the efficient delivery and erection of HVAC systems on the Hinkley Point C nuclear site, ensuring quality, safety, and timely supply to the construction teams.

Your role and responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the workshop and warehouse focused on HVAC duct prefabrication and materials logistics (delivery from supplier and to site/customer warehouse).
• Coordinate all deliveries from outside the UK.
• Plan, organize, and control fabrication workflows to meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Supervise and lead a team of fitters.
• Implement and enforce strict health, safety, security, and nuclear compliance policies within workshop and warehouse operations.
• Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workshop productivity, safety performance, and logistics efficiency.
• Manage resource allocation, including manpower planning, equipment maintenance, and tooling requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of workshop activities, inspections, and dispatch logs to support project reporting and audit requirements.

Your profile:

• Ideally, you have previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a highly regulated sector such as the nuclear industry.
• You have solid experience in HVAC and team management, ideally gained in an industrial or construction environment.
• You demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, enabling you to effectively coordinate activities and lead teams.
• You are committed to complying with strict nuclear safety and quality standards.
• You are proactive, structured, and able to work efficiently in a demanding and safety-critical environment.
