Equans is looking for a Service Manager in our Voids and D&L to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working in partnership with Birmingham City Council within Social Housing. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Responsible for the management of a team of trade operatives or Sub-Contractors delivering a wide range of responsive and reactive maintenance and void projects.
- Responsible for the efficient use of resources and ensuring that job planning, appointments, resource allocation, materials, plant and equipment are effectively utilised and continuously improved in accordance with service delivery targets.
- The Service Manager is also responsible for bringing to the attention of the Senior Service Manager any arrangements/proposals that will improve job control, operational performance, relationships with Client’s representatives and maximise the utilisation of the Company’s IT system.
- The Service Manager fulfils a critical role within the organisation and ensures that the roles and responsibilities of Trade Operatives and Sub-Contractors are adhered to.
- The Service Manager will work closely with the planning team executing their work in a safe manner to the highest possible standards.
- To support the Service Coordinator to ensure productivity is maximised on a daily basis.
- To monitor and track progress of jobs in jeopardy, overdue jobs, completions and closing down of orders.

Who are we looking for?
- Higher National Certificate in Building Studies or equivalent experience
- SMSTS/SSSTS
- City and Guilds Trade qualification
- Experience of operating repairs maintenance contracts and relevant knowledge of building legislation and building and construction projects
- Current valid driving license
