Equans is looking for a Mobile Fabric Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. This is a permanent, full‑time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Working hours are as follows: Week 1 Monday‑Friday 6am‑2pm and Week 2 Monday‑Friday 10am‑6pm. There is also an on‑call rota.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across all building areas, including joinery, basic plumbing, painting, plastering, tiling, flooring, roofing, fence fitting, ground repair, door repair and general building repairs.
- Complete minor repairs and remedial works to doors, windows, locks, ironmongery, ceilings, walls, fixtures and fittings.
- Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to required specifications and within set timeframes.
- Respond promptly to reactive tasks to reduce disruption and meet contractual KPIs and SLAs.
- Identify building fabric defects, recommend remedial actions and provide accurate material lists and timescales.
- Ensure building fabric assets are kept safe, secure and in good condition across all sites.
- Participate in the on‑call rota.

Qualifications
- Post‑apprenticeship experience.
- Strong knowledge of building fabric systems.
- Recognised apprenticeship (City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Valid driving licence.
- Experience in schools, PFI or public‑sector environments (desirable).
- Knowledge of associated M&E systems (desirable).
This role requires a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists; the ability to pass is essential.
