EQUANS are recruiting for a Contract Supervisor to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
The Contract Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution and management of contracts within a defined area or project. This role involves ensuring that all work is carried out to the required standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. The Contract Supervisor plays a key role in coordinating resources, monitoring progress, and resolving any on-site issues that may arise, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. The effectiveness of the Contract Supervisor has a direct bearing on the company’s reputation and financial performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Project Supervision: Oversee the delivery of repair and maintenance works, ensuring that all activities are completed to the required standards of quality and compliance with safety regulations.
- Resource Management: Coordinate and manage the allocation of labour, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Client and Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients, residents, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work performed by operatives and subcontractors, conducting inspections and ensuring that all work complies with company standards and client specifications.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits and addressing any issues promptly.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve any on-site issues that may impact the progress or quality of the work, escalating complex problems to higher management when necessary.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed, resources used, and any issues encountered. Provide regular progress reports to management and clients.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to on-site operatives and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs and assist in managing budgets, ensuring that work is completed within financial constraints.
- On Call: Participation in on-call duties is a condition of employment.

Who are we looking for?
Skills & Competencies Essential:
- NVQ L3/4 or equivalent in a Trade Qualification, Construction Management, Site Supervision, or a related field.
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card - Gold / White.
- Experience in a supervisory role within the repairs and maintenance or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, operatives, and subcontractors.
- Proven ability to manage resources and coordinate on-site activities effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in basic IT skills, including the use of project management software.
Desirable:
- SSSTS Qualification
- Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Scaffold Inspection, and other relevant health and safety qualifications.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience working within the social housing sector or on large-scale maintenance contracts.
