Equans is looking for a Technical Supervisor to join our team in Barnsley on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary of £40,000+ dependent on skills, knowledge and experience and benefits package.
We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the building maintenance teams at the Barnsley Schools contract. They will be able to demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements and will establish good working relationships with the team and client. The role holder should have the ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion.
What will you deliver?
- Planning and implementation of change to improve service and operational quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure customer focused service delivery, contractual and procedural compliance across the PFI contracts.
- Ensure the provision and maintenance of a high level of Mechanical / Electrical / and other technical disciplines in a Hard FM environment.
- Ensure up to date accurate asset management and support to the Lifecycle Project Manager in complying with the contract life cycle requirements.
- Manage a team of multi skilled engineers.
- Form part of the RP/AP roles as required by the contracts.
- Ensure all statutory obligations are maintained in line with current legislation.
- Management of PPM to ensure contractual / statutory timescales are met working with the Compliance Administrator.
- Monitor and assess ongoing facility performance, through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required.
- Management of the M&E and fabric engineers’ day to day.
- Manage the organisation of Statutory Inspections to ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
- Completion of Health and Safety audits in line with agreed programme including follow up action and reporting.
- Staff management including monitoring, induction and actions where necessary.
- Sub-contractor management including regular meetings.
- Ensure records are maintained, are up to date and readily available on SharePoint.

Who are we looking for?
- Experience in a Technical field – Electrical, Mechanical, Gas, Water etc.
- PFI and education experience is essential.
- Working knowledge of other services such as support services, Admin, Finance.
- Working experience of People Management, Sickness, Performance, Risk Management and compliance with HR legislation.
- Desirable previous experience with CAD.
- Experience of Managing Sub Contractors and maintaining standards.
- Responding to bespoke client/ operational requests for information.
- Good working knowledge of standard IT packages.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills as well as the ability to build positives.
- Must be well organised and efficient.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work on own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience of analysis of data and reporting writing.
- Have a minimum of IOSH Working Safely.
- Well versed and understand statutory compliance and reporting.
- Experience of Asset Management and CAFM systems.
- Experience of Life Cycle management and requirements.
- Experience of working and adhering to budgets, offering cost effective solutions.
