Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide. Our highly successful renewable energy business has a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor, the role will involve supporting our wide range of renewable energy projects which include utility scale solar farms, district heating networks, micro grids and battery storage facilities. The Quantity Surveyor can be based from one of the following office locations – London Waterloo, Cambridge, Welwyn Garden City or Manchester.
Key activities
- Oversee the set-up of the supply chain in liaison with Procurement department
- Pricing of change through our contract with respect to our clients, our supply chain and subcontractors
- Initial contract reviews and liaison with Equans legal teams and agreement of initial contract through Equans governance processes, through to the execution of the head contracts
- Management and provision of project securities such as PCGs and Bonds with the management of these through the Equans governance process
- The management of the Equans risk review and monitoring process, compilation of risk matrices and the reporting of these risks to the project team and the Business
- The compilation and reporting of summary commercial data on the projects to the Business, as well working with the project team to assist with any other reports that the business requires to report on the project
- The management of disputes with respect to our Contract with our Client and contractual arrangements with our supply chain and subcontractors
- Preparation and submission of Equans payment applications to our clients, as well as agreeing any payment disputes and managing the WIP and debt levels on the project
- Assessment of subcontractor payments as well as issuing of any contract notifications and certificates for payment, and agreement of final accounts
- Assist with the development and management of short- and long-term forecasts, as well as production of revised Business Forecasts and End of Site reports
- Assist with the production of Earned Value Reports as part of Business Forecasts and End of Site reporting
- Management of Performance Indicators that are measured on the project
- Proficient in the understanding of contractual obligations, under all standard forms of contract
Skills, qualifications & experience
- Must have previous experience within the energy or building services and hold a relevant Quantity Surveyor qualification at HNC/HND or degree level
- Understanding of NEC or FIDIC
- Previous experience of managing and leading teams, with ability to motivate staff essential
- Able to work closely with colleagues across the business, embracing change and new ways of working
- Excellent listening and communication skills, and confident dealing with internal customers and Clients
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages and databases
