Role summary: The role will involve reporting to the Business Director of Embedded Energy, the Compliance and Operations Support Manager shall provide Operations, Maintenance and Technical Compliance support and advice to the Embedded Energy Sites and regional support teams, to achieve business requirements. The principal objectives of the role are to create and deliver the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) discipline and strategic direction in line with business plan targets, compliance, health, environment, safety and quality best practice and standards, within resource and financial guidelines.

Key activities:

  • Delivery of EBIT and long-term profitability across existing operations
  • Support growth opportunities across the Embedded Energy portfolio
  • Coordinate mobilisation and stabilisation of new business / contracts
  • Develop and implement SHEQ and O&M policies and procedures
  • Ensure high standards of compliance and a positive business and behavioural culture within the Operational Teams
  • Deputise for Business Director during periods of absence
  • Help deliver best in class O&M across all contracts
  • Responsible for the compliance of O&M activities and validation of all staff competencies and authorisations across all allocated Sites
  • Provide excellent customer-centric service
  • Have direct operational management responsibility for specified / allocated Sites within the Region
  • Lead, manage and mentor all staff within allocated teams, ensuring good standards of training and development that maintain skills and competencies
  • Jointly manage P&L of allocated contracts with the Finance Business Partner and Contract Managers to achieve in excess of 6% COP
  • Assist the Embedded Energy – Growth Director to identify and grow new business opportunities with existing and new customers
  • Support the implementation of agreed projects within the region and / or on allocated Contracts / Sites
  • Provide technical compliance support and guidance for Site based Operational teams to effectively manage records and work, within agreed processes, systems and standards
  • Provide Site teams with direction to ensure Contract data and reports are compiled to the required standard, are retained and managed in a suitable electronic document management system or equivalent
  • Develops, maintains and makes available a range of Contract specific, or Regional status reports

Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • Engineering qualification – degree or equivalent
  • Operation & Maintenance of Utility Plant including Generation Equipment
  • Project Engineering experience
  • Leadership skills to balance financial, technical and people priorities
  • Commercially focussed to drive profitability and growth
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Flexible and pro-active approach, both personally and by influencing others
  • Customer and employee focussed, including developing key talent
  • Clear SHEQ leadership and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) management
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of operating a range of management systems
