Equans is recruiting for a Sustainability Compliance Manager to be based in either Wath upon Dearne in South Yorkshire, Nottingham, or Coleshill in Birmingham.
This is a permanent full‑time role working 40 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
Working alongside the Director of Sustainability, the main purpose of this role is to manage the PAS 2030:2023 and MCS accreditations for the business, ensuring best practice implementation of the standards on all domestic energy efficiency schemes and managing the in‑house compliance team.
To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy and ensure all employees reporting to you uphold SHEQ requirements to the highest of standards at all times.
What will you deliver?
- Work closely with the Regional Senior Management Team and Business Development Team to identify opportunities for EQUANS around retrofit and support client needs around Energy Efficiency Works.
- Manage the regional Sustainability Compliance Team to support wider business objectives on growth and delivery of schemes.
- Provide guidance and support to operational teams ensuring all retrofit schemes are delivered in line with funding and technical compliance (e. g., PAS 2030:2023, PAS 2035:2023, MCS), working closely with the Central Sustainability Team.
- Be the regional expert on Energy Efficiency standards, keeping the Senior Leadership Team informed of market opportunities to drive the Business Plan.
- Manage and maintain PAS 2030:2023 and MCS accreditations, maintaining relationships with certification bodies and implementing best practice delivery.
- Implement and deliver PAS 2030:2023 and MCS quality management processes.
- Produce regular management reports on compliance progress against site production, identifying any performance issues against key business KPIs.

Who are we looking for?
- Degree level education in construction or environmental qualification.
- Experience in sustainability and retrofit management, including best and common practice.
- Experience with Energy Company Funding or Government Funding related to Energy Efficiency works.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge and experience of relevant standards and systems (e. g., PAS, MCS).
- Minimum 5 years relevant construction/retrofit sector experience.
- Experience managing a team.
- Experience operating at a senior management level.
