Equans is looking for a Digital Information Manager to join our team in Wath upon Dearne, South Yorkshire on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role, on offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.
General Overview
The Digital Information Manager will be responsible for guiding the team responsible for project documentation across multiple projects and implementing business transformation within support functions. This includes overseeing the implementation and compliance auditing of document control processes, ensuring processes and controls are applied consistently across all projects, developing and implementing training materials, and mentoring document controllers. Beyond project document control they will lead and influence methods to analyse and develop existing business practices, developing digitisation including the adoption of AI and lead on any resulting implementation. The role ensures the consistency, integrity, accessibility, and traceability of controlled documentation while supporting support functions, technical and delivery teams to meet internal, client and compliance requirements. This is a senior position that requires strong leadership, communication, and technical capabilities.
What will you deliver?
- Develop training materials and deliver training to document control team, the wider business and supply chain partners.
- Lead document control processes across multiple complex projects or programmes.
- Manage a team of document controllers.
- Ensure consistent compliance with document management protocols, GDPR, ISO standards, and client contract requirements.
- Manage and administer EDMS platforms such as Viewpoint for Projects (4Projects), ensuring correct usage and access control.
- Define project information standards, methods, and procedures, ensuring adherence to ISO 19650 or PAS 1192 standards.
- Ensure integration of Golden Thread supporting information (eg. Fieldview) into EDMS platform.
- Manage the production, exchange, and approval of documents, models, and data among contractors, designers, and clients.
- Support the setup of document control systems and naming conventions at project initiation stages.
- Provide quality assurance checks on document submissions and transmittals.
- Oversee the collation and handover of O&M manuals, Health & Safety files, and other key project documentation.
- Produce and interpret document control reports for project leaders and stakeholders.
- Mentor Document Controllers, providing training and guidance as required.
- Collaboration with technical, BIM, design and engineering and IT teams.
- Coordinate document reviews, approvals, and version control with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the secure archiving and retrieval of project documents in line with legal and company requirements.
- Liaise with subcontractors and design consultants to ensure document submissions are compliant and timely.
- Champion continuous improvement in document control processes and systems.
