Equans is looking for a Trainee Site Manager to join our team! Our head office is based in Hatfield, and we have sites covering London and the Southeast. This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of up to £26,000 depending on your skills and experience, plus a benefits package.
We are looking for someone keen to start their career within construction here at Equans! You will have either recently completed a construction-related degree or be willing to work towards one. Your role will be working on site alongside our operational team where you will learn firsthand about our business. To support you in your learning, you will be engaging with our trainee programme where you will be given one day of study per week.
What will you deliver?
- The Trainee Site Manager will assist the site team in managing construction projects in accordance with agreed contracts, timelines, quality standards, and cost expectations.
- Support the completion of designated units to a high standard, exceeding customer expectations.
- This role requires a strong focus on Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) policies to ensure compliance among all site personnel.
- Adhere to company quality standards, including defect management.
- Understand and comply with Construction Phase Plan requirements.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, materials, and workmanship schedules.
- Uphold the subcontractor code of conduct.
- Assist with preparing Health and Safety documentation.
- Read and interpret specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
- Support the site team in completing projects according to the agreed programme.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Monitor orders and deliveries, ensuring timely availability of materials.
- Assist in the completion of electronic weekly Goods Received Notes (GRN) reports.
- Support subcontractor coordination and information exchange.
- Update and maintain construction progress records.
- Record daily labour levels and track on-site plant usage.
- Ensure site offices and storage areas maintain a professional appearance, with adequate security measures in place.
- Work collaboratively with all business departments to support efficient project execution.
- Ensure works are handed over to the client with a focus on quality and safety.
- Conduct administrative duties and maintain site documentation accurately.

Who are we looking for?
