EQUANS are looking for a Mobile Electrician working on our HMCTS contract at Stevenage Magistrates Court, covering Stevenage, Hertfordshire and Watford. This role is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to the electrical infrastructure and plant in accordance with Site task schedules and CAFM.
- Complete reactive tasks throughout the sites and proactively highlight areas for improvement.
- Swiftly remedy plant faults and defects to maintain serviceable order.
- Ensure suitable spares are available for maintenance and reactive works.
- Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works.
- Complete all relevant paperwork/CAFM regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and pass it to the contract administrator without delay.
- Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
- Develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and client representatives.
- Ensure a Safe and Healthy working environment, including wearing uniform and PPE at all times.
- Keep up to date plant logs at all times.
- Supervise and monitor subcontractors' works while they are on site undertaking maintenance.
- Ensure awareness and compliance with contractual KPI's/SLA's.
- Keep the CAFM system, e.g. PlanOn, up to date and close out PPM and reactive tickets with accurate data captured.
- Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans’ Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements.
- Provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.
- Gain Technical Appointments as required (e.g. LVCP/LVAP/HVAP) and issue PTW to Subcontractors and Equans staff.
- Ensure compliance with the latest version of BS7671 for both self-delivered and subcontracted maintenance, testing and inspection activities.
Impact
We require a fully reliable and competent Electrician who can work on their own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractors, producing high-quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of Equans, so a smart appearance and the ability to discuss findings with others, including customers, is required.
Complexity
The successful candidate will have the ability to fault find, diagnose and rectify complex Electrical faults and issues unaided. They should have an excellent knowledge of Electrical systems, enabling the development of switching schedules and Safety Documentation prior to shutdowns, and plan and oversee electrical shutdowns to permit maintenance or testing.
Qualifications or Required Experience
Essential:
- Full Clean UK Driving License
- NVQ level 3 in Electrical or equivalent such as City & Guilds Technical Certificate in Electrical.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring regulations
Desirable but not essential:
- IPAF PLASMA
