Equans is looking for a Site Manager to join our team in Venture house, Greasbrough Street, Rotherham S60 1RF on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time role working 40 hours per week with a salary of £30,000.00 per annum and benefits package.
Shift Times: Monday to Friday Any 8 hours between 6:00am and 22:00pm, 1 hour unpaid lunch.
What will you deliver?
- Responsible for the day‑to‑day running and security of the site.
- Ensure all safeguarding requirements are met, including relevant training.
- Lead a team of multi‑skilled caretakers to provide an exceptional service to all project stakeholders.
- Provide an effective, efficient reactive and planned maintenance service for the school, upholding the required standards outlined in the PFI Performance Management document.
- Manage Equans staff and all contractors/sub‑contractors on site, ensuring all Health and Safety / Equans procedures and policies are upheld.
- Maintain all site records, including PPMs, work orders, site log books, visitor/induction records.
- Ensure all work orders are closed or updated correctly in relation to their sites.
- Undertake general caretaking duties (porter services such as deliveries and exam set‑ups, reactive cleaning of bodily fluid spillages, general maintenance like lamp changes and replacement of ceiling tiles).
- Carry out planned maintenance activities (Legionnaires checks, door condition checks, light switch checks, litter picking, gritting, leaf removal) in all weathers.
- Provide regular support to the school to enable delivery of the teaching curriculum, and communicate with school representatives.
- Undertake and record statutory and mandatory planned maintenance duties.
- Log reactive maintenance tasks on the helpdesk.
- Proactively carry out a daily regime of ‘find it fix it’ or report it to the helpdesk, ensuring tasks are followed up and fixed within our service level agreement.

Who are we looking for?
- This role reports directly to the Facilities Manager.
- Able to promote good customer relationships.
- Have safeguarding experience in an education environment.
- Have a proven track record of practical maintenance skills.
- Have a good understanding of building services such as boilers, heating, lighting and water management.
- Have good knowledge of Health and Safety.
- Can follow site and company policies and procedures.
- Good communication skills and able to converse with people at all levels.
- Understand services and plant to be maintained within the building.
- Live within 30 minutes of the site to provide reactive call‑out cover if required.
- Good IT skills (desirable).
- Full valid UK driving licence.
A full enhanced DBS clearance will be required before taking up the position.
