EQUANS are looking for a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer based in Preston for our North West Fire & Rescue contract. This role will include covering 16 Fire Stations across Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. General Overview
To carry out planned & reactive maintenance including statutory and mandatory compliance across the North West Fire and Rescue properties. This is a customer facing role with tight deadlines, so communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks are essential.

Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification and/or a minimum of 5 years hands-on Air Conditioning repair and installation working within the Buildings Services Industry
- FGas & ODS regs is a mandatory requirement.
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (6087) or equivalent
- Experience within a similar role/environment is essential
- Full Clean Driving Licence
- Computer literate with good skills in Word, Excel, email, internet etc.
- Able to work on own initiative
- Good knowledge of SHEQ procedures, risk assessments, work permits etc.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Apply relevant trade skills to undertake scheduled, planned and reactive maintenance tasks on HVAC plant and equipment, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
- Investigating, troubleshooting and rectifying defects in all ventilation systems and associated plant/components.
- Ensure all record keeping functions are completed on a daily basis, ensuring any parts required are clearly and accurately stated.
- Maintain appropriate qualifications, and up-to-date trade knowledge, as may be required for the safe and efficient performance of duties.
- To liaise as necessary with client representatives and resolve any matters which may arise.
- To immediately report any potentially dangerous situations to the Management.
- Ensure the satisfactory, prompt and accurate completion of any associated paperwork as required by the company.
- To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
- To comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures.
- To keep Fgas register up to date with any changes both install and reactive works that take place.
- To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service.
- Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job Description.
- To participate on the On Call Rota & occasional out of normal working hours activities.
