Equans is looking for an Apprentice Electrician to join our team at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. This is a Fixed Term Contract for 54 months on a full time basis working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package. We are looking for a motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our team and take the first step in building a rewarding career in electrical maintenance and installation. You will gain hands‑on experience on‑site while working towards your electrical qualifications, learning from our skilled Technical Operatives and Electrical Leads. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain technical skills in a real‑world environment, while also contributing to the delivery of high‑quality electrical services across a variety of properties.

What will you deliver?

  • Actively engage in personal development and apprenticeship training
  • Assist in completion of PPM’s and remedials in various electrical and mechanical hospital equipment such as but not limited to RCD’s, RCBO, transformers, Emergency Lighting, and Motors.
  • Carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand with a level of competence that’s outside core trade.
  • Learn to read and interpret design drawings, diagrams, and manufacturer specification
  • Take responsibility for company tools and ensure they are well maintained
  • Deliver services to the highest standards in line with Equans’ customer care values and policies
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post.

  • 4 GCSE’s at Grade A-C including maths and English

  • Due to the nature of the contract, you will be required to obtain and maintain a DBS at Standard Level.
