This role is for an Operations & Bid Manager within Equans’ Energy Solutions business.
Key Activities
- Bid Management: Lead and coordinate the full tender process for key accounts – from early opportunity identification through internal governance reviews and the submission of both non‑binding and binding offers. Work closely with internal teams (Design/Engineering, Procurement, Cost Estimation, Construction) to ensure designs meet technical requirements, maximise constructability and operability, and remain commercially sound. Contribute to the development of the 5‑year business development budget and monitor performance against targets. Maintain accurate Salesforce updates (Equans’ CRM) and ensure the opportunity pipeline reflects the latest position, to inform the budget of the Finance team. Coordinate with Legal, Commercial, Cost Estimation and O&M teams to consolidate Equans’ contractual positions for EPC and O&M agreements.
- Project Management: Lead a team of senior project managers, project managers and site‑based staff on multiple projects (10+ at a range of £5‑£40m value each). Maintain and build the team to deliver a growing number of projects in energy solutions. Create and execute project delivery plans/programmes with assistance of the planner and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Manage construction with responsibility for Health & Safety compliance at all levels. Manage day‑to‑day operational aspects of the projects. Manage costs within the agreed budget, seeking operational efficiencies where possible.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant engineering or construction‑related qualification.
- Technical operations experience in the renewable energy industry, ideally in Solar PV & BESS, Hydrogen and heat networks.
- Strong commitment to health and safety, and knowledge of H&S legislation applicable to construction projects.
- Strong, organised leadership with exemplary verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
