EQUANS are looking for a Mobile Electrician for our Rochdale and Oldham Schools contract. The role itself will predominantly be based in Oldham. This is a permanent full‑time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

This role is for a proven 18th edition qualified Electrician. Supported by a strong operational team, the focus is developing, maintaining and improving the Electrical systems across the four schools in the Oldham & Rochdale area, PFI estate. The contract involves GSHP, gas boilers and biomass for heat, electricity and cooling to the range of buildings. Knowledge of these systems is preferred, however this role is for general maintenance, small reactive and PPM electrical works day to day.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain plant and equipment to agreed specifications and operation.
  • Develop an in‑depth knowledge of the relevant individual contracts.
  • Ensure paperwork is up to date and correctly completed.
  • Ensure all jobs are closed down promptly.
  • Carry out the defined planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations within the school buildings.
  • Ensure Safe Systems of Work are in place.
  • Issue the relative working permits.
  • Carry out repairs, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on plant.
  • Attend, diagnose and repair faults with due regard to customer care in this environment.
  • Carry out proactive plant monitoring activities to ensure efficient utilisation of plant and equipment.
  • Interrogate operational information systems to support daily operations and fault diagnosis.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and report diligently.
  • Perform any other relevant duties that may be required, some of which may be outside normal working hours.
  • Undertake any training necessary to ensure that you are able to undertake your duties effectively.

Qualifications or Required Experience

  • Fault‑finding and practical skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and function as part of a team.
  • Very strong Excel and IT skills.
