EQUANS are recruiting for a Bricklayer to be based in Oldham. This is a permanent full-time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
Repair and maintain residential properties, focusing on high-quality masonry, brickwork repairs, repointing, and damp-proofing in tenanted or void homes.
Key requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Trowel Occupations
- CSCS card
- Full driving license
- Experience with customer-facing repairs, often working as part of a multi-skilled team
Key Accountabilities
- Repairs & Maintenance: Perform, repair, and maintain brickwork, chimneys, and external walls in occupied (tenanted) and empty (void) social housing properties.
- Specialist Works: Execute damp-proof course (DPC) repairs, sealing foundations, repointing, and decorative brickwork.
- Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to CDM regulations, COSHH, and company safety policies, including working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Customer Care: Act as an ambassador for the landlord/housing association, delivering a positive, professional, and courteous service to residents.
- Administration: Plan material requirements, manage stock, and use handheld devices to update job status.
Assist with the adherence to the Company quality standards including:
- Compliance with specification
- Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules
High quality Customer Care must always act in a polite and professional manner. Maintain and care for all company tools. 1st time fix to be achieved wherever possible. To use appropriate safety equipment. To wear appropriate clothing / uniform. To ensure areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the day. To be responsible for and take due care of the company van in accordance with the company car policy. To be responsible for holding keys for communal entrances, meter cupboards and allow access where appropriate. Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc. Material co-ordination. Ensure accurate / timely completion of any relevant documentation required on the contract. Any other reasonable management request.

Skills and Abilities
- Certification: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Bricklaying (or equivalent City & Guilds/time-served apprenticeship).
- License/Card: Valid CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) and a full, clean driving license.

- Experience: Proven experience in housing maintenance, repairs, or social housing environments.
- Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, strong problem-solving skills, and competency in interpreting technical drawings.
