Equans is looking for a Mobile Electrician to join our HMCTS contract. The role is based at Nottingham Crown Court and covers sites across the surrounding area. It is a full‑time position (40 hours per week) with a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance on distribution systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms, AHUs, water systems, medical gases and pressure systems, ensuring patient safety and operational continuity.
- Respond promptly to unplanned electrical faults or failures, meeting service level agreements to minimise disruption and avoid contractual penalties.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as Risk Assessments, Method Statements and work reports to support safe and compliant practices.
- Participate fairly in an on‑call rota to provide 24/7 emergency response and keep critical services available.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, the client and external contractors, communicating respectfully and upholding high standards of health, safety and professionalism.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds Technical Certificate)
- Knowledge of the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
- Full Clean UK Driving License
- Strong fault‑finding, diagnosis and independent rectification skills
- Excellent knowledge of electrical systems to develop switching schedules and safety documentation before shutdowns
- Ability to plan and oversee electrical shutdowns for maintenance and testing
- Previous experience in a high‑demand maintenance engineering role
- Ability to pass and maintain security vetting (BPSS/CTC) due to the nature of the contract
