Job Summary

Equans is looking for a Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Electrical) to join our team in Kingston upon Thames on a permanent basis.

This is a full‑time role with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift: Early 08:00‑17:00, Late 09:00‑18:00. You will also be required to be on call every 1 in 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance at student accommodation sites in Kingston upon Thames.
  • Respond to all reactive maintenance requests during normal working hours and out of hours as part of the on‑call rota.
  • Undertake replacements of electrical appliances and fittings as needed.
  • Perform quarterly shower head & hose cleaning in accordance with ACOP L8 requirements.
  • Monthly temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems.
  • Continuous monitoring and maintenance of mechanical systems, fittings and plant rooms.
  • Weekly flushing of water outlets in all unoccupied rooms.
  • Weekly fire alarm testing on the student accommodation.
  • Bi‑annual fire door inspections, ensuring necessary adjustments and faults recorded accurately.
  • Minor repairs to faults reported within student bedrooms and shared kitchen facilities covering building fabric, fixtures and fittings.
  • Carry out replacement of luminaires and general LV outlets & accessories.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, essential.
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of ACOP L8 desirable.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, both independently and by instruction.
  • Full UK driving licence.
