Equans is looking for a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital business, covering parts of Birmingham and the surrounding areas on a full time basis.

Equans Digital has a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure upgrades and enhancements across a number of commercial, retail, healthcare, education and government sectors nationwide. In doing so we prime sites to become ‘Smart Enabled’, allowing us to introduce further value through our IoT solutions and drive social, economic and environmental benefits to our portfolios of sites and the people operating and living within them.

Equans Digital delivers project works ranging from £10k to £1.5m in single size plus variations, through a blend of in‑house delivery and specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3–5 years, this role will be pivotal in shaping and growing the team to ensure sustainable expansion.

Key activities
  • Installing, configuring, and commissioning BMS components and equipment, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
  • Carrying out maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMS systems on our various sites.
  • Working the reactive call‑out rota (with additional financial benefit for being on call and attending).
  • Providing specialist technical assistance and support to clients regarding their BMS systems.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement/remedial works to enhance the performance of the BMS for our clients.
  • Preparing proposals and quoting works as required.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • City & Guild / BTEC / NVQ Electrical qualification, with extensive knowledge and experience of BMS/HVAC.
  • Knowledge and experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, and Siemens.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the electrical industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
  • Understanding of IT networks.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Controls training or experience.
  • Experience with fault‑finding in electrical panels.
  • DBS vetting and potential BPSS vetting.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
