Overview
Weβre seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong water systems bias to join our dedicated engineering team on a prestigious government contract at a Grade II* listed site in Westminster, Central London. This is a site-based, full-time role focused on maintaining and improving key mechanical assets with responsibility for domestic water systems, closed systems, plumbing, HVAC, and pressure systems, as well as supporting fabric and minor electrical works.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
- Take responsibility for water hygiene management in compliance with L8 regulations
- Maintain plumbing systems, AC units, pressure systems, and general mechanical plant
- Assist with minor fabric maintenance and basic electrical work when required
- Liaise with the Engineering Supervisor, subcontractors, and wider team to ensure service excellence
- Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and standards
Essential Requirements
- L8 qualified and confident managing water systems
- City & Guilds/NVQ in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in building services maintenance
- 18th Edition Test & Inspection (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain CTC (Counter-Terrorism Clearance) (Employment is conditional on successful CTC clearance prior to start)
