Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint a Senior Commissioning Manager with an electrical focus to support our growing data‐centre projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring effective test and commissioning of data‐centre processes within set timescales, including quality and health & safety management.

What you will deliver

  • Provide strategic and tactical building services commissioning management support for the engineering process of a project from conception to completion.
  • As an expert, provide guidance and direction to the team to ensure operational excellence.
  • Be able to interrogate engineering schedules, verification & validation requirements, etc.
  • Manage the commission process with the verification and operation of electrical plant and equipment, liaising with specialist subcontractors and package managers to follow the specific commissioning process from Level 1 to Level 5.
  • Review and input the commissioning procedures and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor and advise when all commissioning documentation has been reviewed and signed off.
  • Compile and prepare commissioning test documentation.
  • Ensure that work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety requirements.
  • Chair site commissioning meetings.
  • Provide information for progress reports.
  • Assist the project manager to prepare inspection and test plans for each element of the works.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor and highly technical buildings.
  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning management within large scale projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work.
  • Proven people‐management experience.
  • Good writing skills with a focus on drafting test procedures and coverage files.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations.
  • Understanding of UK health & safety construction laws.
  • Relevant qualification in electrical engineering or related field is desirable.
  • Experience working in data centres is desirable.
