Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for an M&E Operative (Water Systems) to join our facilities team at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, from 08:00 to 17:00, Mon to Fri.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager/Water AP
  • Ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water systems within a healthcare environment in accordance with HTM 04-01, ACoP L8, and associated water hygiene regulations.
  • Undertake water hygiene tasks, including temperature monitoring, flushing, and cleaning.
  • Carry out Legionella control measures.
  • Assist with maintenance of hot and cold water systems, tanks, calorifiers, and pipework.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records using CAFM systems such as Maximo.
  • Support planned preventive and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Manage contractors as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Desirable to hold a relevant M&E trade qualification to level II (theory and practice) or equivalent, with suitable industry experience.
  • Must have solid understanding of water systems (ideally within a hospital); desirable to be a Competent Person for water systems.
  • Experience in building services and competence in plumbing and water hygiene is required.
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is advantageous.
  • IT Literate.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have a good understanding of health and safety best practice; formal training an advantage.
