Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Handyperson (Maintenance Operative) to join our Facilities Management team at a school in Barking. This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
The role:
- Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor
- To carry out planned and reactive M&E and fabric maintenance, repair and new works tasks including statutory and mandatory compliance as directed.
- To undertake training and qualify as Authorised or Competent Person for any M&E/fabric components as required
- To carry out door inspections across the estate, including fire doors.
- Working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with participation in the call-out rota across both schools on the Barking contract
The person:
- Previous experience in building services to include all aspects of planned & reactive maintenance within large commercial buildings
- Will hold basic qualifications or have good experience in either electrical/plumbing/fabric
- Must have good IT skills
- Hard working with a can do attitude and able to work unsupervised
- Full UK Driving License
- Computer literate
- Good communication and customer focused
- Able to work independently on own initiative as well as within a small team
- Able to obtain DBS clearance (due to working in the vicinity of children)
