Equans is recruiting for a General Maintenance Operative to join the team in Reading Crown Court, The Forbury, RG1 3EH . This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £26,000.00 – £28,000.00 per annum depending on skills and experience plus benefit package.

Shift Times:

Mon-Fri 7am to 4pm

What will you deliver?

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive tasks on a wide variety of surfaces, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and Equans processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities. Activities will include –

  • Mobile Cleaning, ‘business as usual’ cleaning to cover holiday/sickness.
  • Respond to reactive clear up of body spills and deep cleans.
  • Inspect/repair/clean floors, walls, ceilings and roofs
  • Inspect/repair/clean free standing and fitted furniture
  • Inspect/repair/clean drainage and gully systems
  • Inspect/replace luminaries
  • Inspect/repair/clean doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
  • Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
  • Assist engineering and cleaning staff in a wide range of duties as required
  • Carry out Ad-Hoc activities supporting Equans and Client team including Moves/Changes

Demonstrable experience in cleaning, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment..

Understanding of Legionella control techniques e.g. tap flushing
