EQUANS is looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our team at Liverpool Central Library. This role is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Shift Rota:

  • Week 1 – 7am to 4pm
  • Week 2 – 8am to 5pm
  • Week 3 – 9:30am to 6:30pm

One week in three, Thursday and Friday are off due to weekend working.

General Overview:

The successful candidate will be part of a small team and will deliver PPM and reactive tasks, working one weekend in three with agreed days off during the week.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out day to day maintenance and reactive tasks relating to all the building and fabric assets.
  • Be a first call response for leaks and blockages.
  • Carry out a range of plumbing tasks such as tap repairs and replacements.
  • Carry out a range of joinery tasks such as door repairs and installing new locks.
  • Set up meeting rooms and IT equipment as per booking forms.
  • Ensure all jobs assigned are completed with SLA rectification times.
  • Utilise PDA to provide updates on work orders, ensuring sufficient information is provided.
  • Proactively carry out a daily ‘find it fix it’ regime, report to the helpdesk and ensure it is followed up and fixed within the service level agreement.
  • Undertake and record statutory and planned maintenance duties.
  • Participate in emergency call outs.
  • Manage a busy workload while maintaining high levels of service execution.
  • Ensure risk assessments are completed and maintained for all tasks and that all activities are undertaken within EQUANS Safe Systems of Work.
  • Ensure all business‑specific SHEQ obligations are met and procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working area.
  • Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand and power tools in accordance with health and safety and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Undertake training where necessary to maintain and develop the service requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with site teams and management.
  • Embrace and adopt the EQUANS Safety First culture and policy.
  • Undertake additional duties in line with the role requirements.

Complexity:

  • Organise and manage own time to ensure jobs/projects are completed on time and to budget.
  • Work as part of the team and prioritise workload whilst planning ahead to ensure targets are met.
  • Demonstrate EQUANS Safety First culture within the workplace.
  • Have experience of working in a public building.
