Equans is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team on our Birmingham schools contract at Coleshill, Birmingham, B46 1JU on a permanent basis. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, from 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
The Data Analyst will play a key role in transforming raw data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision making across the Birmingham Schools Contract. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with modern data tools, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Previous experience in a helpdesk or technical support environment is highly advantageous, as it demonstrates strong problem solving abilities, user support skills, and an understanding of operational workflows which is a key part of this job role.
What will you deliver?
- Identify, gather, and extract data from multiple internal and external sources.
- Maintain and manage databases to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Clean, validate, and prepare datasets by removing errors and ensuring data integrity.
- Apply statistical methods, data mining techniques, and predictive modelling to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations.
- Support the development of analytical models that drive business insights and operational improvements.
- Build clear, engaging dashboards, reports, and visualisations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio.
- Present data in a way that is accessible and actionable for stakeholders at all levels.
