Equans is recruiting for a Caretaker to join the team in Newcastle Fire Station, Elswick NE4 6HL.

Nature of Employment: Permanent full-time, 37 hours per week. Salary £25,460 per annum plus benefits.

Shift Times:

  • Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 15:30
  • Friday: 07:30 – 15:00

What you will deliver: The Caretaker will facilitate the delivery of services provided to Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Authority by Equans at any of their PFI Estate. You will ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely fashion in accordance with the appropriate schedules and standards. You will undertake a range of PPM tasks at a frequency specified by corresponding plans and industry standards. You will also be responsible for logging any jobs that arise whilst on site, as well as monitoring and taking the appropriate action with regards to jobs that have been allocated to you. This is a customer-facing role and demands excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.

Required Vetting: BPSS level vetting is mandatory. The vetting includes DBS clearance; you must be able to pass this clearance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of operational delivery of FM services
  • Previous experience of supervision desirable
  • Experience in a front-facing, customer-centric role
  • Full clean driving licence is essential
  • DBS (enhanced) check required
