Equans is looking for a Cleaning Team Leader to join our team in Mithras Halls, Lewes Road, BN2 4QX on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time role working 40 hours per week with an annual salary of £26,888.00 and a benefits package.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise Cleaning Operatives in defined areas, ensuring delivery of the Cleaning Service elements of the contract.
- Ensure continuous approval of performance standards as required by the contract.
- Monitor performance against KPIs and report any deviations.
- Oversee and support self‑auditing processes to maintain high standards.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations at all times.
- Manage effective use of equipment and materials, reporting faults to the Residence Manager.
- Assist with stock management, including ordering and inventory control.
- Train new staff and deliver toolbox talks on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and company expectations.
- Review task‑based Risk Assessments periodically to ensure compliance.
- Organise cover for staff absences, including sickness and annual leave.
- Manage cleaning supplies and stores, ensuring all Health and Safety aspects are addressed.
- Plan and coordinate periodic/special resource cleans as per contractual specification.
- Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives across the cleaning team.
- Support and coordinate summer school lets in accordance with contractual requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ideally BICS trained.
- Experience in a leading role.
- Excellent understanding of cleaning processes, materials, equipment use and ordering.
- Proficient use of computers, including online systems and Microsoft Office.
- Right to work in the UK.
