Equans is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team on our contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals on a permanent basis. You will be required to work across the different hospitals within the contract. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. What will you deliver?

  • Manage the site delivery of all Fabric, M&E Lifecycle & Variation projects as part of the project delivery team on site, to manage site design, contract management, financial management, H&S, site management, snagging and hangover of every project, as required.
  • This senior role is key to the EQUANS projects team to ensure the projects function is fully supported. The SPM will be responsible for a defined area and provide management of a defined team of project reports (Site Managers & Project Co-ordinator).
  • Demonstrable line management skills (5 years>) will be required to ensure level of skill and experience is in place to take on effective management of a small team.
  • The SPM will need to be responsible and take direct ownership for all projects where there is risk to commercial, financial and H&S matters. This may be on NHS CAPEX projects or Lifecycle projects, and/or in supporting the wider EQUANS business.
  • Manage works implementation to ensure projects are delivered safely; on time; on budget and are to a high standard from inception to final account stage.
  • Ensure the project pipeline is managed in accordance with all contractual KPI requirements, while complying with Equans internal governance processes.
  • Make sure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures.
  • Full responsibility for all finances in relation to the allocated projects, including the correct invoicing of, WIP management, implementation of Contractual documents and monthly finance reporting to the business.

Who are you?

  • Experience operating in the public and/or private FM sector with a demonstrable track record of directly managing Fabric, M&E Project works within a large and complex estate is essential, preferably within a Healthcare environment.
  • High level of verbal, written and numeric skills and must be computer literate with knowledge of CAFM systems and all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Computer-literate (MS Office based Products: Excel, Word, Project & PowerPoint) with a sound knowledge of CAFM/estates and project management systems.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a building/construction or engineering discipline.
  • Ability to show understanding of Local Authority legislation, Planning Applications, Fire and Building Regulations Approvals.
  • A sound knowledge of building and engineering services design and associated British Standards.
  • A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and other relevant statutory requirements will be required.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
