Equans is looking for an Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Belfast on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role offers a competitive salary, a company vehicle, bonus and a benefits package.
Overview
The Electrical Quantity Surveyor will provide professional QS services ensuring all electrical works across the contract portfolio are compliant, commercially controlled, accurately documented and delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Undertake duties and responsibilities set by the senior manager in line with contract and business requirements.
- Manage and support a team of electricians across all contracts, overseeing quality, compliance and productivity.
- Ensure all documentation (certification, reports, records and photographs) is accurately completed and uploaded within contractual timeframes.
- Audit electricians’ work and support internal and external audits, including assisting other QS/QA personnel.
- Carry out duties as a qualified electrician in accordance with Statutory Regulations, British Standards and Equans policies and procedures.
- Support senior site management in delivering a quality product within the contract period and budget.
- Ensure full and accurate completion of the sequence of events on PDA devices and timely closure of jobs for invoicing.
- Promote and ensure efficient use of the Impact system and other digital tools for job, cost and certification management.
- Use Microsoft Office and other relevant software to track, reconcile and process certification, orders and variations.
- Work to client contract KPIs, target dates and timeframes, ensuring performance is measured, reported and improved where necessary.

Required Qualifications & Criteria
- Time-served, fully qualified electrician.
- CSR Gold Card (or equivalent recognised safety passport).
- AM2 qualification (or recognised equivalent assessment).
- Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671).
- 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection and Testing certification.
- JIB Gold Card and/or Spark Safe registered (or recognised equivalent industry registration).
- Full, clean driving licence appropriate to the role and vehicle type.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD relevant to electrical installation, inspection, testing and safety (desirable but strongly preferred).
Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of electrical installations, inspection, testing and fault diagnosis across domestic and commercial environments.
- Practical experience in delivering and/or supervising electrical works within term maintenance, planned works, refurbishment or similar contract frameworks.
- Strong understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and guidance, including safe isolation, Permit to Work and risk assessment principles.
- Proficient use of electrical testing equipment and instruments, with a clear understanding of test requirements and acceptable results.
- Experience of using PDA-based or mobile job management systems to manage workflow, documentation and communication.
- Commercial awareness, including understanding of SOR codes, variations and the financial implications of site decisions.
