EQUANS are recruiting for a CAD Estimator to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled CAD Estimator to join our heating installation team. This is a dynamic role combining technical design with cost estimation, ensuring our projects are delivered to the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. You’ll play a key part in turning client requirements into practical designs and competitive quotations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Produce detailed CAD drawings for heating systems, including pipework layouts, plant rooms, and equipment positioning.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and subcontractor services.
  • Review tender documents and specifications to identify project scope and cost factors.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to align design and cost requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and technical data.
  • Ensure all designs comply with building regulations, health & safety standards, and industry codes.

Who are we looking for?

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of heating systems, HVAC components, and installation methods.
  • Analytical and numerical skills for accurate cost estimation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications or Required Experience

  • 2–5 years’ experience in CAD drafting and estimating within heating/HVAC or building services.
  • Familiarity with UK building regulations and heating industry standards.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Excel and estimating software.
