As a Procurement Manager, you will maximise delivered financial value and enhance visibility and perception of Procurement within Equans UK & Ireland. Your success will be measured by smoothly implementing new supplier contracts, delivering ongoing value, and generating savings in line with our Procurement Policy. You will align with the strategic objectives set by the Head of Procurement and contribute to the overall success of the Connected Cities workstream.

Key activities:
  • Deliver consistent and professional procurement services to internal customers.
  • Drive the visibility and perception of Procurement.
  • Define a procurement strategy in collaboration with the Senior Procurement Manager and relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Promote insourcing over outsourcing where in‑house capabilities exist.
  • Implement sourcing strategies and lead procurement tenders for selecting supply chain for operational contracts and framework agreements; negotiate for optimal agreements, ensuring procurement meets technical, operational, health & safety, and sustainability standards.
  • Implement and manage framework agreements as relevant to division-specific local requirements.
  • Drive compliance to existing local & category framework agreements, ensuring they are publicised and used across the business and leverage parent company group agreements.
  • Manage suppliers that deliver services specific to the business unit through regular supply‑chain meetings, visits, and business reviews; engage operational teams to manage subcontractor performance.
  • Ensure the right supply chain is in place by conducting market analysis and sourcing new suppliers where gaps are identified.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience of similar multi‑stakeholder organisations/roles.
  • Relevant experience in procurement, commercial and/or financial.
  • Educated to degree/diploma level (or working towards) in Procurement, Business, Law, Surveying, Accounting, Science, or a CIPS accreditation or with comparable competencies.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, rules, and regulations.
  • Negotiation and contract management skills with proven experience in a procurement / commercial / contractual environment.
  • Exposure to sustainable procurement practices and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to tailor approach based on the audience.
